TruClean™ Combination Laminator
- Benefits
The combination laminator produces a full range of sheeted and laminated biscuits and crackers. It is cost-effective and simple compared with conventional multi-purpose plants. The combination laminator is compact and easy to operate, with excellent access for cleaning and maintenance. It is designed to TruClean™ standards, meeting the latest industry guidelines on hygiene.
Production flexibility
The TruClean™ combination laminator is chosen by companies needing to make the full range of hard sweet biscuits and crackers on a single plant. Laminating produces a light, crisp texture, which cannot be achieved in any other way, and is conventionally used for cream and soda crackers, and biscuits such as Petit Beurre. The sheeting technique is used for hard dough biscuits such as Marie, and for snack crackers.
Cost-saving technology
The key to uncomplicated flexibility is an ingenious mitre turn which feeds the dough either to the laminator or directly to the first gauge roll via a by-pass conveyor. Conventional dual purpose plants need two sheeters, one each for laminated and sheeted products. The combination laminator saves the cost of the second sheeter. A single in-line sheeter also reduces the cost and complexity of the dough feed system. Normally this would feed two sheeters, in separate locations and at different orientations.
High efficiency
The combination laminator incorporates all the performance and operating benefits of stand-alone TruClean™ sheeters and laminators.

Laminator
Accurate weight management across the full width of the plant is achieved by close control of dough sheet thickness, and the lay-down process. Advanced motion-control technology improves the precision of the sheet positioning and lay-down. Velocity and position can be adjusted during operation, making it easy to achieve a perfectly laminated sheet.
Sheeter
The three-roll arrangement provides optimum control over the size and condition of the dough sheet. The rolls are configured to create a compression chamber which homogenates the dough. It does so without damaging the dough by over-working it. Flanges fitted to the lower roll ensure the sheet covers the full width of the conveyor band for even baking.
TruClean™ performance and choice
The radical TruClean™ approach to hygienic design is setting new standards. Less time spent cleaning means lower costs and faster changeovers. It allows hygiene standards to be raised while maintaining the lowest possible cost of ownership. TruClean™ machines retain all the best-in-class process parameters and benefits of previous generation Baker Perkins equipment including outstanding reliability, performance and ease of use. Two levels of sanitation are available for every machine in the TruClean™ range. This allows customers to choose the one that best matches the sensitive cross-contact risks they face and the cleaning protocols they use.
